Holy crap taht\'s alot of image makers, who needs to buy software to make banners or logos anymore?

Well, these could make ok banners or logos, but they usually place a link in the image too, so sometimes it's good to use a free program like Gimp to make a custom banner or logo.

I hear ya. Most of the time its easy to remove the links they put in, but why bother, when there are sites that don't. You have a linky to Gimp?

Well, I have two, because Gimp just released 2.4 rc1. If you would like to try the new beta version, go to http://www.filehippo.com/download_the_gimp and download the latest version (windows installer). For other operating systems with the older stable release, go to http://www.gimp.org

Gimp has a learning curve, if you have never got used to using PhotoShop, then expect extra time to learn how to use GIMP. GIMP is a great PhotoShop clone and it's 100% free!
